Spring isn’t even here yet, but already, thoughts of summer blockbusters are floating around in this movie junkie’s noggin. Here are a compilation of what will most likely be the highest grossing flicks of the season. Notice I said, “highest grossing” and not best. Twilight: Eclipse, you know I’m talking to you.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
What can be said about the Twilight franchise that hasn’t already been said? How about: “What a well-written, smart, Oscar-worthy film that doesn’t make me want to ram a razor blade in my eye.” Yup, that definitely hasn’t been said.
Iron Man 2
The first Iron Man grossed $318,412,101 domestically. I think it’s safe to say that audiences will be lining up again for more of Tony Stark’s smug brand of ass-kicking.
Clash of the Titans
A remake of the 1981 film of the same name, Clash of the Titans is loaded with gods, monsters and epic battles of Greek mythology. It’s like Percy Jackson and the Olympians, hopefully minus the sucking.
How to Train Your Dragon
Brought to us by the hit and miss DreamWorks Animation studio, let’s hope How to Train Your Dragon is a little more Kung-Fu Panda and a lot less Over the Hedge.
Toy Story 3
Ah, Pixar: who Dreamworks wishes they could be. These guys haven’t missed a beat yet, and with the first and second Toy Story being listed among Pixar’s most popular films, this film selling some tickets is a sure bet.
